Nepali Women

In the context of a strictly pathriarchal society where the female genre has a high dependance on her husband and father,  this report is meant to be as a small tribute to the working women in Nepal.  Most of them have very early marriages and a forth of the female population start having children before the age of 18.

Depending to which caste they belong, they generally work harder, longer hours than men and are also responsible for carrying water to their homes.  Nevetheless, they are often likely to face discrimination and suffer from insults and aggressions.

This project captures images of women performing daily duties such as carrying heavy loads of wood, hays, shrubs and corn, constructing a monastery, and taking care of their children.
